GoPro bought Kolor, a company that specializes in stitching software for 360 video which you can use to put together the footage from the rig. The program lets you tweak this manually, but the editing software is limited to the basics. The process is pretty straightforward, but objects and people seemed to disappear right around the stitch line.

Kodak offers a free stitching software for Mac or PC that uses the audio as a base to match the clips with a click of a button. The stitch is a b#&chĭealing with a multiple camera setup like the Pixpro and the Freedom360 rig means you'll have to go in and manually stitch all your footage from each individual source.

This creates a lot of versatility because you can control the field of view, direction, etc. What Overcapture essentially means is that you can reframe a traditional shot from your existing 360 footage. You’ve likely seen Overcapture in the marketing videos for the GoPro Fusion camera. You can use the GoPro VR plugins for basic 360° effects, as well as creating “Overcapture”-styled videos. The best part is that you can use these plugins with any 360° footage, so they are not limited to footage from the Fusion 360° camera. Coinciding with the Fusion camera release, GoPro has also released some free VR/360° plugins for Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
