Be prepared to sacrifice video quality when sharing The GoPro footage was the most consistent with a high definition output even in 360 headset mode, but the RAW footage looked muted, and I had to go in and color correct manually to get the same vibrance as the Pixpro.
GOPRO VR PLAYER CRASHES PRO
The Pro version we used for our test runs around $650 on the Kolor website. It gives you way more control over the stitch and quality of the video, but it's not cheap.
GOPRO VR PLAYER CRASHES SOFTWARE
GoPro bought Kolor, a company that specializes in stitching software for 360 video which you can use to put together the footage from the rig. The program lets you tweak this manually, but the editing software is limited to the basics. The process is pretty straightforward, but objects and people seemed to disappear right around the stitch line.
GOPRO VR PLAYER CRASHES FOR MAC
Kodak offers a free stitching software for Mac or PC that uses the audio as a base to match the clips with a click of a button. The stitch is a b#&chĭealing with a multiple camera setup like the Pixpro and the Freedom360 rig means you'll have to go in and manually stitch all your footage from each individual source.

The stitch itself is relatively seamless and even stitches the actual camera out of the shot. Looking for more Premiere Pro tutorials? Check out the following.Because the Theta does all the stitching internally in real time, it allows you to use your phone as a view finder with the mobile app if you want to preview. It works great for creating quick Point of View (POV) shots or abstract looks all inside of Premiere Pro. It allows users to “reframe” their 360° footage in a lot of cool ways. However, the GoPro VR Reframe effect is all-new to Premiere Pro. This works in the same manner as the Immersive Video Plane to Sphere effect. The GoPro VR Layers effect allows users to project layers such as text or logos correctly onto 360° footage. The GoPro VR Horizon effect allows users to reorient their 360° equirectangular footage, which works the same as the Immersive Video VR Rotate Sphere effect.

Two of these effects, Horizon and Layers, are both quite similar to two Immersive Video effects recently implemented into Adobe CC 2018. The GoPro VR plugins consist of three effects: Horizon, Layers, and Reframe.

You can also create abstract looks like the “Tiny Planet” effect. This creates a lot of versatility because you can control the field of view, direction, etc. What Overcapture essentially means is that you can reframe a traditional shot from your existing 360 footage. You’ve likely seen Overcapture in the marketing videos for the GoPro Fusion camera. You can use the GoPro VR plugins for basic 360° effects, as well as creating “Overcapture”-styled videos. (Here are quick links to directly download the GoPro VR plugins for Windows and for Mac.) The best part is that you can use these plugins with any 360° footage, so they are not limited to footage from the Fusion 360° camera. Coinciding with the Fusion camera release, GoPro has also released some free VR/360° plugins for Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. GoPro recently released their new 360° camera called Fusion, which can film 5.2K resolution 360° videos. In this tutorial, we will take a look at GoPro’s free virtual reality effects for Adobe Premiere Pro.
